• Enzymes have much the same job as catalysts.
• They speed up biological reactions and like enzymes they are not used up in the process.
• They are specific to a certain kind of reaction.
• They work harder the higher the temperature but have a cut off point like catalysts.
• Because enzymes are specific, different ones work best at different pHs.
