GCSE History> Cold War> Truman Doctrine
The Truman Doctrine was carried out in Greece.

America was prepared to send money, equipment and advice to countries involved in Communist take over.

This meant the USA didn't have to be directly involved in the fighting but could help stop Communism spreading.

The prevention on Communism spreading is known as containment - the Iron Curtain border was accepted but it was not to move any further.
