Attracts thousands of visitors each year.

It is as old as many of the pyramids in Egypt.

You used to be able to wander around the stones but because of graffiti it is cordoned off now.

Site has been redeveloped over the last 5 years. The car park has been enlarged, a gift shop, restaurant and toilets have also been added.

A tunnel has been built from the car park to the stones.

Concern about the effects on stones from busy A303. A tunnel for the traffic has now been approved and will be built in the near future.

There is a desire to build a more dramatic multimedia centre with further facilities.

There is also damage from weathering to the stones.

Stonehenge is a worship place for druids on the longest day. There is now a limit on the number of worshippers allowed in.

Situated in Wiltshire; 2 miles west of Amesbury.

Stonehenge is run by English Heritage.
