Strengths of the Weimar

 

The strengths of the Weimar (The good years) 1924-1929
New leader Stresemann took over from Ebert.
Sorted out Dawes plan - loans from America and rep. spread over longer time and Young plan - reparations reduced.
Removed British, French and Belgium troops from out of Rhineland.
Cultural achievements - Cinema, arts, clubs, poets, artists etc.
Exports increased industry recovering.
Locarno Treaties - good foreign policy borders with France - lead to Germany entering the League of Nations.

Problems at the time:
rising unemployment.
Government spending of health.
Recovery dependent on America.
Extremes of wealth and poverty.
No part ever won majority.
